During her internship, Farstad developed a trading model that was used to invest two billion kroner in the stock and bond markets. At the same time, Nikolai was one of the best students in the year he graduated from BI. He received the London Bridge Ward Scholarship for further studies at Cass Business School in London. In London, Nikolai had several internships, including at the London Stock Exchange. After completing his Bachelor's degree at BI, he started as an Execution Trader at Beringer Finance. He worked there for a year before taking a master's in International Security at IBEI in Barcelona. During the finalisation of his master's thesis in spring 2020, Nikolai started his own company BlueC together with two friends. A company that builds a business model around ocean-based ecosystem services.
