We note that Bergen is one of Norway’s most popular tourist destinations. We urge conference participants to be early with accommodation bookings. The deadlines for reservations are noted below, and as you see this is earlier than we are accustomed to in NOFOMA because of peak tourist season.

We have managed to reserve some rooms at hotels with good locations in the city center and a walking distance of 15-20 minutes to the BI campus.

The airport in Bergen is well connected to many cities in Europe and beyond.

When arriving at the Bergen airport, Flesland, there is a city light rail that takes you to the city center. The BYBANEN city rail is the most cost-efficient alternative at NOK 49,- and takes 40ish minutes. Find tickets with the SKYSS app.

The train ride to Bergen from Oslo is known for its travel through beautiful and scenic landscape. It also provides a very comfortable overnight train. The train arrives in the city center with a short walking distance to most hotels. Find tickets at https://www.vy.no/en the train takes approximately 8 hours.

Note that the train is very busy during the tourist season, so if you want to travel with the train to Bergen, remember to book early. 

Oslo is also well connected with trains to Sweden.
